Bhuti is a beautiful urban eco wellbeing escape in South West London. Located just a 3 minute walk from the River Thames in green and leafy Richmond, it is the perfect place to find some inner peace and relaxation. Bhuti offers yoga, pilates, meditation, workshops, beauty & relaxation therapies as well as delicious vegan food throughout the day from their organic vegan kitchen with indoor and outdoor seating. A combination of relaxing sounds, earthy hues and the smell of aromatic oils immediately brings a sense of calm the moment you walk in.
Bhuti is a Sanskrit word, referring to the feeling of wellbeing and inner balance – something we can all benefit from. Yoga, meditation and other forms of relaxation therapy are a wonderful way to calm down and reduce stress in our hectic lives. Even better if that is topped with a balanced and healthy diet. Bhuti combines these elements beautifully in surroundings that make it easy to relax instantly!
I was lucky enough to be invited to an introductory evening at Bhuti including a one hour yoga class and three course vegan supper from their gorgeous vegan kitchen. Bhuti is located on Hill Rise about a 10 minute walk from Richmond Station, the entrance area has a litte shop with gym clothing, natural cosmetics and jewellery. From the shop a few steps lead to what they call ‘Vegan Tea Room’ which serves organic vegan food with a menu that changes daily.

It is impressive how many vegan restaurants pop up in London these days and it is nice to see one in Richmond – I was rather excited about the prospect of a three course vegan menu after my yoga session. The kitchen was busy preparing the food when I walked passed on my way to the relaxation area.
A couple of candles were lit in the relaxation room with three very comfortable ‘nests’ hanging from the ceiling and two sofas/beds to relax in. Hot tea and water was provided in the room as well as some reading material on mindfulness. Calder Moore, the interior designer has done a marvellous job in creating a truly relaxing environment!
Before the yoga class we were able to look around the facilities – the treatment rooms, different yoga and pilates studios and the special members areas like the one above. Bhuti offers a well-being membership which includes unlimited access to their members areas, classes, events and workshops.
The yoga studio was beautifully lit with candle light, creating a wonderful mood – blankets, eye masks and other yoga equipment has been carefully laid out on each mat. Our yoga session was led by Samantha Trinder, the very owner of Bhuti which guided the class with her calming voice. At the end of the session we laid back covered by a blanket and eye mask, with Samantha walking around with lavender oil for everyone which sent me into a state of pure relaxation.
The three course meal that followed started with alcohol free prosecco called “Bees Knees” – love that name! It is sparkling fermented grape juice blenden with premium green tea. The meal that followed has been prepared by one the chefs of the Bingham – their sister company in Richmond.

The first course was a roast butternut squash soup with spiced lentil and pumpkin seeds which added a lovely nuttiness to the dish.
The truffled quinoa, roast peppers, courgette flowers with thai basil sauce was absolutely delicious! I am not vegan but a big fan of cutting down on meat – it is therefore a pleasure to discover dishes that are tasty without the need for meat.

The meal was beautifully rounded up with a coconut and cinnamon rice pudding, passion fruit and mixed berries. It had a gorgeous creamy consistency and was not too sweet either!
The evening finished with a few Bhuti protein balls & Canton Tea before heading back home feeling stretched, relaxed and nourished inside out. It was a beautiful evening that I’d love to repeat!
Bhuti offers full well-being yearly memberships as mentioned before which includes unlimited access to all of their classes, workshops and events, however, it has also drop in rates for the individual classes. Membership and classes are not inexpensive but a wonderful way to treat yourself. Bhuti also offers classes once a week for the community just asking for a small donation to make it assessable to everyone.
