A healthier version to the traditional mulled wine is this delicious wellness Christmas punch – a great example that you don’t need alcohol to make a festive holiday drink that is a real winner with everyone – not only expecting mums, kids and drivers (however, it is very much appreciated by them)!
This drink is not only tasty and very easy to make, it is packed with antioxidants that have multiple health and anti-aging properites! The antioxidants of red grape juice, which is the main ingredient, are believed to promote heart health, lower cholesterol, strengthen the immune system and protect from cancer. Lemon (which is a also a great liver detoxifier) and orange juice further boost your immune system with Vitamin C and the spices are soothing for the stomach.
To make this punch put 750 ml (3 cups) of red grape juice (make sure to buy 100% juice, best organic – not just a juice drink which is a mix of water, sugar and only a little bit of grape juice), 7 whole cloves, 2 cinnamon sticks, 4 aniseed, the juice of 1 orange and 1/2 a lemon into a pot and slowly bring it to a simmer – simmer for about 5 minutes ensuring the spices infuse the drink. Serve while it is hot.
It is also very nice to enjoy cold with a little bit of ice – just place whatever you have leftover into the fridge for a refreshing drink.
