Ever since Mango Lassi became my favourite chill-out drink during our stay at Sala Phuket in Thailand I like to make it at home to remind me of a fabulous holiday. Originally from India, this utterly delicious cold drink is gaining popularity worldwide. To create that summer feeling in a glass you only need five ingredients, a blender and preferably a little bit of sunshine, but even if it is raining it will certainly brighten up your day!

For two portions use the flesh of one large, nice ripe mango – about 1 cup (you know that it is ripe when it’s richly fragrant and soft to the touch) 200 g (1 cup) of plain yoghurt, 125 ml (1/2 cup) of milk, about 5 ice cubes and a little bit of honey to sweeten.

Place all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until it is nice and smooth! You can sprinkle a little bit of ground cardamon on top if you like and garnish with a little bit of fresh mint and there is nothing better than to enjoy it in a nice sunny spot with relaxing background music like Waves from Mr Probz – and there I am – back in paradise!
The barkeeper at Sala Phuket tended to blend fresh mint in with the other ingredients (picture above) which was incredibly delicious as well!
