Perched high on top of a clifftop in one of Mallorca’s most scenic regions, the location of Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa couldn’t be more stunning. It offers unequalled views of the unique Tramuntana mountain range, the charming coastal village of Port de Sóller below and the vast blue ocean which seemingly merges with the light blue sky above. While the hotel might prove hard to leave with its nice spa, pools and comfortable rooms it’s the perfect base from which to explore this beautiful part of Mallorca that is within easy reach of Palma by car or vintage train.
The idyllic harbour village of Port de Sóller with its horseshoe-shaped bay and typical local restaurants & cafes that line the beachfront is only a 10-minute walk from the hotel and well worth exploring. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of exceptional restaurants (full post with our favourite restaurants coming up soon! ) that this little village has on offer which made our journey up and down the steep hill even more exciting, admittedly the walk down with an empty stomach is slightly faster than the walk back up after an indulgent meal that you have easily worked off by the time you reach the top!
The hotel has a contemporary, relaxed feel to it, with the use of natural colours it does not feel over-designed.
There are many exceptional viewpoints on Jumeirah’s sprawling complex which can take a little time to familiarise yourself with and in all honesty I would have been lost a few times if it were not for my husbands’ excellent sense of orientation. On one day of our stay, we were lucky enough to witness a beautiful wedding celebration on this terrace, overlooking Port de Sóller with the stunning mountain range building a gorgeous backdrop while a drone hovered above capturing the festivities & spectacular scenery.

The hotel has three outdoor pools, one of which is an adult only infinity pool overlooking the Mediterranean sea below. However, the weather was ever so slightly unpredictable when we were there so we explored the surrounding areas during sunny spells instead, leaving little time for spending time there – I captured the infinity pool one morning before breakfast, you might notice the ripples on the water’s surface that was caused by the wind.
The cloud formations and thunderstorms that the weather brought with it were incredible to watch from the comfort of our room.
While the weather prevented us from the extensive hiking tours that we had planned, it gave us (me) the perfect excuse to take advantage of Jumeirah’s spa facilities which include a heated outdoor hydro-massage pool, a salt steam room, hammam, ice fountain, steam room with herbal essences, a deep relaxation room and spacious dry sauna with yet again stunning views of the Tramuntana mountain range from its large windows. A highlight was definitely the signature Talise massage by Jesus (an excellent massage therapist!) which helped me to truly unwind.
Our mornings always started with freshly pressed orange juice (the region is famed for its delicious oranges), that we enjoyed on the outside cliff-front terrace (or indoor space when it rained) at Jumeirah’s Cap Roig restaurant that offered a great breakfast buffet as well as a la carte menu.
Fresh oranges from the region were also placed in our room together with a complimentary bottle of red wine that we enjoyed on our very spacious balcony of our Junior Suite that also featured a nice, comfortable lounge area, bathtub & walk-in shower.
All of the rooms in this luxury five-star hotel have sea or mountain views of which we had the latter allowing us to watch the clouds rolling over the mountains from our window facing bed.
We had a wonderful time in Port de Sóller and couldn’t have wished for a more beautiful spot from which to explore the surrounding area from, it made for a memorable time with ever so many evenings starting at their sunset lounge – a fabulous place to relax with a sundowner while taking in the views of this beautiful part of Mallorca!
We really liked the valet parking staff who made us laugh on numerous occasions and who sweetened our short journey back to Palma with a bag of sweets each.
