Caramelised walnuts take less than 10 minutes to make and are great in salads, on ice cream, in baked goods and, of course, just as a treat in itself! Ever so slightly addictive they also make beautiful homemade presents for family and friends.
All you need is 100 g (1cup) of Walnuts, 100 g (1/2) cup of refined sugar and 15 g (1tbsp) of butter – put all ingredients into a non stick pan and melt over low to medium heat while stirring.
Make sure to coat all of your nuts with the caramel and quickly transfer them on to a baking sheet. Be careful not to burn yourself the caramel is very hot and sticky!
With the help of two forks, separate the nuts and let them completely cool before you transfer them into a jar or plastic container.
